Mortarlink was created by people who know the chaos of running jobs, chasing crews, and juggling spreadsheets. We built a faster and simpler way for subcontractors to manage bids, schedules, and timesheets in one place.
It started on the jobsite
Mortarlink was created because subcontractors and contractors deserved a better way to run their jobs. The idea first took shape long before the platform existed. Two of our founders met as roommates at the University of Florida while studying at the Rinker School of Construction Management. They both earned their bachelor’s degrees in construction management, but their careers took them in very different directions.
One went deep into the field, eventually building a successful concrete company and managing crews the old-school way with clipboards, spreadsheets, text messages, and, at one point, even a cookie sheet to keep track of who was supposed to be where. The other moved into development and technology, building and ultimately selling an analytics company.
Even with their different paths, both experienced the same problem from opposite sides of the industry: subcontractors and contractors were piecing together tools that didn’t talk to each other, creating confusion, miscommunication, and unnecessary chaos.
When they reconnected in 2022, the need for a simple, connected solution became impossible to ignore. Mortarlink was born from that reality. Built to bring clarity to the field, accuracy to the office, and alignment across every job.
